Rihanna flew from her home in London to JFK Airport in New York last night (April 12, 2019) where she was photographed upon her arrival wearing a black sweatsuit paired with Balenciaga shades, Nike Air Force 1 kicks and a personalized Dior tote bag.
While some theorized she was taking a pit stop in New York on her way to Coachella (where “Guava Island,” her film with Donald Glover was debuting), as it turns out she was in New York to support and spend some quality time with her beau, Hassan Jameel.
The two first popped up at an invite-only Rivian car event taking place in advance of the company’s debut at the New York International Auto Show, which will take place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center April 19th-28th. Jameel is the deputy president and vice chairman of Saudia Arabia-based Abdul Latif Jameel, an early investor in Rivian.
The event was attended by the couple along with Rivian CEO and founder, RJ Scaringe, as well as lead designers and engineers involved with building Rivian’s electric R1S SUV and R1T truck, which will launch in late 2020. Potential buyers were also invited to the event.
Rihanna carried a Medea bag and wore a silk navy Esteban Cortazar blouse with black jeans paired with sky-high Gianvito Rossi Sabin heels and was still noticeably shorter than Jameel who is well over six-feet tall.
Following the event, the couple headed downtown and enjoyed dinner at Perry St., a posh restaurant in the West Village that’s located in Richard Meier Towers, a building whose main attraction is gorgeous waterfront views of the Hudson River.
