Cardi Dominates BET 2019 Awards With Seven Nods

The 2019 BET nominations were announced today (May 17, 2019) and it’s yet another banner award event for Cardi B, who received seven nominations. Drake was nominated in seven categories, followed by
Beyoncé, J. Cole and Travis Scott, who received four nominations each.

The event’s banner award for album of the year includes Cardi for Invasion of Privacy, Travis Scott’s Astroworld, Meek Mill’s Championship, The Carters’ Everything is Love and Ella Mai’s self-titled debut album.

The best female rap artist category includes Cardi, Kash Doll. Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma.

A very deserving appointment for Chioma Nnadi, who A very deserving appointment for Chioma Nnadi, who becomes the first Black woman to hold the role of head of editorial content for British Vogue. She succeeds Edward Enninful, who now holds a global role at Condé Nast.

Prior to working at US Vogue in 2010, Nnadi held editorial roles at The Fader and Trace.

In press about the appointment, Nnadi  shared, I’m beyond excited and honored to have been appointed as British Vogue’s head of editorial content. As someone who was born and raised in London, the energy of the city, its boundary-pushing style and creative scene, has shaped the way I look at the world."

She added, "Now, more than ever, it feels like a moment to look beyond borders while also celebrating the broad scope of what it means to be British. I’m looking forward to engaging a loyal and inspired digital community that is energised by our access, point of view, and storytelling.”
