Stylist and editor Carine Roitfeld is having a coming out party for her recently-launched fragrance line called Carine Roitfel Parfums, a collection that includes seven unisex scents.
In an effort to familiarized New Yorkers with the perfumes, Roitfeld is planing a pop-up store designed by fashion show producer Etienne Russo, the fashion show producer.
In an interview with WWD, Roitfeld explained she put a lot of care into creating the line. She explained, “In France, perfume is something very serious, you know. It’s not just something you can change all the time. Usually we offer a perfume to someone and it means something important, it’s not just a trend. It’s a very big thing, so I hope I keep the reputation of the French perfume and that my perfume are very good quality.”
Events at the pop up will include a panel discussion on fragrance, hosted by Roitfeld and a Mother’s Day brunch, hosted by Roitfeld’s daughter, Julia Restoin Roitfeld.
Roitfeld also received an assist from Kanye West through his Yeezy label, which will supply 200 t-shirts commemorating the event. The shirts will be handed out on opening day, starting at 2:00 PM EST with Roitfeld on hand to sign them. (We’re just going to assume Roitfeld will be prepared for the mayhem!)
Roitfeld’s pop-up will open from May 5-12, 2019 at 158 Mercer Street from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The perfume line will launch exclusively on net-a-porter.com on May 6th.
