Miami-based rap duo the City Girls have dropped a visual for “Act Up,” the second most streamed single (“Twerk” with Cardi is No. 1) from their debut album Girl Code.
Celebrating his involvement with the single, Quality Control label mate Lil Yachty is featured in the video, a fill in of sorts for JT (real name Jatavia Johnson), who is currently serving time prison for a fraud-related charge. In the visual, Yachty gives Yung Miami (real name Caresha Romeka Brownlee) pointers on adding more energy to her verses.
Yachty’s invovlement with the single was revealed last month in an interview with Kerwin Frost and revealed his involvement with writing the song. In the exchange, Yachty (real name Miles Parks McCollum) explained, “I wrote the whole song except for JT’s last verse, but everything that everyone is singing and all, I wrote the whole thing.”
