Jamaican-born reggae artist Koffee (real name Mikayla Simpson) visited Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning” on Tuesday (June 11, 2019) while in New York for two concert dates.
Just 19-years-old, Koffee explained her love for music began in church. She began listening to reggae at age 14 and was a big fan of Chronixx, who eventually took her under his wing.
Since Rihanna‘s attendance at a reggae festival in April 2019 in Barbados where she was spotted jamming to Koffee’s “Toast” single, there have been rumors the two musicians might work together.
When asked by Ebro whether Rihanna has reached out to her, she said, “We soon soon be in contact soon.” She added the connection was music related.
