London-based singer Bree Runway rocks the boat with “Big Racks,” a single featuring Brooke Candy that raises a fist for women who are focused on growing their wealth.
While the lyrics are about making money, the video for the “Big Racks” opens with a series of statistics detailing the challenges black people and other minorities face amassing wealth versus their white counterparts.
Reflecting on the song on Instagram, Bree wrote, “We can get turned down in corporations simply because they can’t pronounce our names on our CVs, put up against each other as if it was a wrestling match with this light-skinned versus dark-skinned crap, demonized at the slightest sound of any kind of assertiveness in our tone for standing for something that is right. Being a black woman in general is hard but in business it truly is some survival of the fittest shit!”
