Barack and Michelle Obama today (August 24, 2019) shared their annual summer ’19 playlist, a selection of music spanning an array of genres and decades. Reflecting his place as the United State’s 44th president, the list includes 44 selections.
On Twitter, Obama wrote, “With summer winding down, here’s a sampling of what Michelle and I have been listening to — some new, some old, some fast, some slow. Hope you enjoy.”
Recommendations for female artists include Rihanna, Beyoncé, Lauryn Hill, Maggie Rogers, Sharon Van Etten, Camila Cabello, Phoebe Killdeer, Lizzo, H.E.R, SZA, Jhené Aiko, Ella Fitzgerald, Ella Mai, Esperanza Spalding, Koffee, Jill Scott and Rosalía.
