Paris-based Celine under the direction of Hedi Slimane has officially announced the coming launch of a perfume collection, a category the designer said he would take on when he was brought on to lead the label.
Titled “La Collection Celine Haute Parfumerie,” the collection is described as 11 masculine/feminine perfumes, eight for day time and three for evening activities. Individual scents are named for notable Paris locations and activities and include Parade, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Dans Paris, Cologne Française, Bois Dormant, La Peau Nue, Rimbaud, Eau de Californie, Reptile, Black Tie, and Nightclubbing.
Packaging in the luxury perfume world is half the story and in the case of Celine, the rectangular-shaped bottle makes use of a thick glass and features a minimalist label detailed with the Celine logo and the name of each perfume.
Celine has offered perfume in the past as produced by Interparfums, which held the brand’s fragrance license from 2000-2011. Celine took the license back in house but has chosen not to produce a perfume until now.
Look for “La Collection Celine Haute Parfumerie” to launch in late October 2019 at Celine boutiques.
