Well this should be interesting! Married to the Mob designer Leah McSweeny will join the cast of “Real Housewives of New York,” season 12. The news emerged shortly after Bethany Frankel shocked fans of the show when she announced plans to step away from the show.
According to a source who spoke to US magazine, “Leah and Tinsley Mortimer are friends and have filmed together. Leah is a great addition to the show. She’s glamorous, fun and wild in all the right ways.”
Never one to shy away from controversy, McSweeney was famously sued in 2004 by streetwear label Supreme for use of parody logo Supeme Bitch in association with her clothing label.
Much more than a designer, she enjoys stirring the pot on her and Laura Stylez “Improper Etiquette” podcast. Additionally, she’s written about hot button topics including the toxic nature of Anthony Bourdain’s girlfriend, Asian Argento, and the problematic nature of The Women’s March founders.
Real Housewives of New York is known for its wealthy, mainly uptown cast members and as such McSweeney’s downtown roots and connection with the streetwear scene have the potential to add some spice to the long-running series.
