Adidas and Pharrell have announced a new effort titled “Now Is Her Time,” a campaign shot by Collier Schorr that places women front and center.
Individuals in the campaign include singer/songwriter Syd; co-founder of Black Lives Matter, Patrisse Cullors; period.org founder Nadya Okamoto; writer/director Reggie Yates; architectural technologist Iddris Sandu; surfer Keala Naihe; filmmaker Sana Azim; Art Mom founder Tyra Mitchell; Style Saves co-founder Isabela Rangel Grutman; models Sara Cummings and Kadija Diawara; and dancers Sheena Cain and Sophia Parker.
“Now is our time to come together and speak up for those who can’t,” says Syd in a visual that includes additional individuals speaking out in favor of equality of all kinds.
And while there’s been some push back on a campaign for gender equality that’s centered around a man, all told Pharrell doesn’t get a lot of camera time.
Adidas and Pharrell’s “Now Is Her Time” capsule is comprised of unisex apparel and footwear for adults, juniors, children and infants. Footwear silhouettes include Solar HU, NMD, BYW, and the Adilette and is rooted in four separate color stories: solar yellow, cream white, hyper pop and utility black.”
Priced at $160, Adidas and Pharrell’s Solar HU shoes will drop on September 1st, 2019 on adidas.com.
