North Carolina-native Rapsody (real name Marlanna Evans) checked in with Complex’s “Everyday Struggle” series where the Grammy-nominated rapper talked up her upcoming album EVE, which drops August 23, 2019.
She also weighed in on controversial comments about female rappers made by Jermaine Dupri, who Rapsody has worked with. “For him that was the perfect opportunity to shed light on people that you do like. I think sometimes we focus too much on stuff we don’t necessarily like,” she commented.
When asked for her list of current favorite female rappers, Rapsody mentioned Cardi B, Leikeli47, Tokyo Jetz, Ill Camille, Blood Bath and 3D Na’Tee. Megan thee Stallion also drew a mention though she noted she needs to hear more of her.
