Burberry Highlights Black Photographers In Monogram Puffer Campaign

October 26, 2019. Leave a Comment

London-based Burberry as led by Riccardo Tisci has commissioned black photographers Renell Medrano, Micaiah Carter and Arielle Bobb-Willis to highlight the launch of the label’s fall 2019 logo-covered collection of puffer jackets.

The campaign was inspired by The New Black Vanguard: Photography between Art and Fashion, a book featuring a compilation of images by black photographers as edited by Antwaun Sargent and published by Aperture Foundation.

In addition to the trio tapped for the campaign, additional featured photographers in the book include Campbell Addy, Awol Erizku, Nadine Ijewere, Quil Lemons, Namsa Leuba, Tyler Mitchell, Jamal Nxedlana, Daniel Obasi, Ruth Ossai, Adrienne Raquel, Dana Scruggs, and Stephen Tayo.

Burberry’s puffer collection available is now available on burberry.com.

Priced at $50, The New Black Vanguard is now available to purchase at aperture.org. Images from the book are also on exhibit from October 24, 2019 through January 18, 2020 at Aperture’s gallery located at 547 West 27th Street in Manhattan.

Enjoy a look at Medrano, Carter and Bobb-Willis’ images below.
