Spanishtown, Jamaica native Koffee (real name Mikayla Simpson) shares a visual for “W” a dope, uplifting track featuring Atlanta-born rapper Gunna.
Directed by Matt Baron, the visual was shot in Jamaica and kicks off with a preacher loudly testifying. Further referencing her deeply-held Christian beliefs, parts of the video were shot in a church featuring a choir.
Commenting on the song’s message, Koffee told Rolling Stone, “‘W’ is all about encouraging people to focus on the wins and not the losses, to not forget to live their best life and to always remember to give thanks. Big up to the whole team: production, the label and special thanks to Gunna for blessing the track with his feature!”
It’s been a great year for Koffee, whose “Rapture” EP was recently announced as a Grammy nominee for best reggae album.
