Bravo TV has confirmed the rumors are true. Married to the Mob founder Leah McSweeney will be an apple holder for the “Real Housewives of New York,” which is in the midst of filming its 12th season.
The news was announced by Bravo producer and talk show host Andy Cohen at BravoCon in New York on Friday (November 14, 2019), an event attended by many of the current and former cast members of the various reality show franchises.
In an image featuring her RHONY cast mates, McSweeney wrote, “Maybe it’s a coincidence but the fact that Bravo Con is at the same venue where I was assaulted by NYPD has me in my feelings! Full circle shit. Grateful and honored to be on RHONY Season 12 with these women.”
In her quote, McSweeney was referencing an incident in 2002 when a New York City police officer assaulted her when she she tried to defend a friend who was being beaten by the same officer.
McSweeney lost two teeth during the incident and sued the police department. She eventually received a $75,000 settlement from the City that she used to launch her Married to the Mob label.
