Atlanta-born r&b singer Summer Walker announced today (November 12, 2019) that she’s trimming some dates from her “First and Last Tour,” a concert series that kicked off on October 26th at the Mala Luna Festival in San Antonio, Texas.
On Instagram, Walker wrote, “I truly appreciate all the support and love. As you know, I have been very open about my struggle with social anxiety. I want to continue to be healthy and to make music for y’all, so I have decided to cut down some of the dates on the tour. I hope you all can understand. I’m grateful for every single one of you, and I hope that you understand that wellness/mental health is important. All cancelled dates will be refunded asap.”
The 23-year-old Walker frequently has mentioned struggling with performance anxiety and at the same time has been dealing with verbal attacks and critiques made on social media by two women who share children with producer London on da Track (real name London Tyler Holmes), who Walker is dating. While on tour, she’s also been criticized by a few fans for showing a lack of enthusiasm during fan meet and greet events.
Cancelled dates include Portland: November 14th, Salt Lake City: November 19th, Pittsburgh: November 30th, Orlando: December 17th, Memphis: December 21st.
