Plenty of designers have created line extensions for children, but as of late, designers have begun to queue up twin offerings for dogs. Often beloved like family members, the trend makes sense especially among city-dwelling, fashion-flexing millennials who are more inclined to put off having children or not have them at all.
While Heron Preston (in collaboration with Very Important Puppy) and Burberry have already seized on the idea with logo-covered coats, SSENSE has taken the concept to new heights with a capsule featuring doggy designs by Montreal-based boutique’s most popular designers.
Press on the effort explains, “The latest selection of luxury accessories enable dogs to partake in streetwear and high fashion’s most current happenings alongside their owners. Diverging from conventional approaches to dog accessories, designers offer logo-embellished leashes and experiment with vinyl-constructed dog jackets in vibrant colorways. With the rise of pet influencers and twinning with one’s pooch, the luxury alternative of dog accessories guarantees stand-out impact.”
In addition to Heron Preston and Burberry, SSENSE is offering snappy coats, collars, leashes and accessories from 032c, Ashley Williams, Giu Giu, Marine Serre, MISBHV, Moncler Genius, Paul Smith, Stutterheim and Thom Browne. If you want to go all out for your pooch, the collection includes a super luxe $1,400 Versace Barocco dog bed.
Available for dogs of all sizes, prices range from $50 for a MSHBV bandana up to $1,400 for the aforementioned Versace bed.
