Given the high price tag ($159 and up) of Apple‘s wireless AirPods, it was inevitable someone would find a way to add back on the wires as a way to reduce the likelihood of them falling out unbeknownst to the user.
Three years following AirPods launch, several companies have come up with a mechanism that makes use of magnets to create a AirPods strap and holder that combines convenience with technology.
While founded in 2016 three days after the AirPods were launched, the Stockholm-based Tapper is gaining some traction in the United this year because the company opened up distribution to Nordstrom. It also helps that Tapper’s straps (which were first launched at the endlessly-hip Colette), are designed with an eye on style and coordinate well with the sleek look of the AirPods.
If you want to stay state side, Nordstrom is carry a $60 braided leather version of the Tapper strap in either black or white. There are additional colors on gettapper.com, along with nylon plus gold and silver-plated rope chains, ranging in price from 30-70 euros. And yes, the company ships globally.
