Air Jordan has announced the return of a women’s sneaker silhouette first launched in 1988, the same year the basketball brand was broken out as a separate entity from Nike. Simply dubbed Women’s Air Jordan at the time, the shoe was in part a tribute to the WNBA’s inaugural 1997/1998 season. Widely worn by pro-female players at the time, the good looking shoe was also embraced by some male players.
Relaunched as the Jumpman OG (style code: 133000-106), the shoe’s upper features a wavy black mesh and dimpled white leather upper, a distinct material story later extended to the Air Jordan 13.
Priced at $140, Air Jordan’s Jumpman OG will drop on January 16, 2019 on nike.com.
