Famed foam shoe brand Crocs has had a lot of interesting collaborations over the past few years but its latest with KFC tops the list of weird combos that somehow work.
Working off of Crocs famed foam clog, the co-branded silhouette features a photo graphic of fried chicken on the upper while the bottom mimics KFC’s fame red and white box. The Kentucky Fried Chicken logo and Colonel Sanders are detailed on the shoe’s heel.
But that’s not all, each shoe is also accompanied by two fried-chicken-shaped and scented Jibbetz, which Crocs warns are “not for human consumption.”
A Crocs press release describing the effort reads, “Covered in a fried chicken print and a striped base, these will make your dreams of wearing a bucket of chicken finally come true.”
The striking visual for the campaign was directed by Wieden + Kennedy Portland and features South Korean creative/musicians MLMA (Me Love Me A Lot), who worn a one-off, platform version of the shoe to Cristian Cowen’s New York Fashion Week presentation last night (February 11, 2020)
Priced at $59, Crocs hasn’t announced timing for the effort other than spring 2020. Keep on eye on crocs.com/kfc for updates.
