Rihanna has released a video providing a behind-the-scenes look of the making of The Rihanna Book. First released in October 2019, the book is filled with images from throughout her life and career.
“The narrative about this book is layered and complex and it’s not about one thing,” explained the book’s senior graphic designer, Marwaan Kabour, who went on to detail choices around the book’s various typography and layout choices. He went to explain the choice to group images together from annual events like Coachella that Rihanna has attended on multiple occasions.
The video also includes an interview with the Haas Brothers (Nikolai and Simon Haas), who created the unique stands that accompanied the first edition of the book.
The video was released in part to promote three new editions of the book: “Love, Rihanna: Luxury Supreme” signed by Rihanna ($1,995); “Rihanna: Luxury Supreme” signed by Rihanna and The Haas Brothers ($5,500); “Rihanna: Fenty x Phaidon, which includes a tattooed hand stand ($120).
All three versions of the book are available to purchase at therihannabook.com.
