Off-White designer Virgil Abloh and bottled-water company Evian are joining forces once again, following up from their collaborative effort last year with a second set of limited edition bottles. The collection see the return of last year’s 750 millimeter glass bottle and 500 millimeter Soma water bottle as offered in new colors.
This time around, the partnership also includes the launch of Activate Movement, a platform built to identify new ways of being environmentally conscious. The winning proposal will receive 50,000 euros to help bring the idea to life, as well as global exposure from Evian. Individuals can submit their ideas here through March 31, 2020.
In an exchange with Vogue, Abloh explained, “I kind of want to see something that I didn’t think of. I want to see the young generation think of new ways to reidentify the idea of being environmentally conscious.”
Quizzed about the impact of his recent hiatus, Abloh added, “2020 is definitely a new decade that my practice will start to get even more layered and more purposeful now that I have the platform of my past work to stand on.”
In the United States, Evian and Abloh’s new water bottle collection will be available in limited quantities at select restaurants and bars. Additional details on the drop can be found here.
