Hong Kong-based BAPE has revealed plans to drop a high-heel version of its famed BAPE STA sneaker. Offered in three colorways with a three-inch heel, this marks the first time the silhouette has ever been offered with a heel.
While this may be the first high-heel Bape Sta to be sold at retail, Beyoncé fans will recall she wore a custom pink, patent leather pair in her “Check On It” visual, released in 2005.
According to Complex, the idea to create a custom pink BAPE STA came via her then stylist Ty Hunter, who was inspired by the Manolo Blahnik x Timberland boots she wore in the “03 Bonnie and Clyde” video.
As for availability of the official pairs, BAPE has closed its U.S. stores to prevent the spread of COVID-19 though the shoes will be available on the brand’s U.S. online store on March 21, 2020. No info as of now on pricing or sizing.
