Beauty brand Pat McGrath Labs today (May 28, 2020) announced Naomi Campbell as the first face of the brand. Titled “Divine Rose,” the debut campaign highlights a coming lip and eye makeup capsule launching on May 29th on patmcgrath.com.
In an exchange with Vogue, McGrath stated, “I am so honored to not only be working with a legend who has changed the face of beauty forever, but to be working with a friend and a sister who I love and adore. The fact that this is the first time Naomi has been the face of a beauty brand founded by a woman, and not to mention a fellow woman of color, after 34 years in the business, makes it even sweeter.”
Sharing McGrath’s enthusiasm for the effort, Campbell stated, “I believe in her as a friend and as chosen family, but I also want to see her do well for the industry overall. I want to see a person of color at the top,” says Campbell.”
Makeup artist Pat McGrath’s relationship with the famed supermodel extends back to 1994 when McGrath, Campbell and Kate Moss first worked together on an i-D magazine editorial.
