Virginia-based rapper/singer Babyxsosa has dropped a visual for “Hi Roller,” a video celebrating carefree summer vibes. The single was included on her four song “BabyXObama” project released in May 2020.
Directed by Moshpxt, the visual for “Hi Roller” was shot during Babyxsosa’s first trip to Los Angeles.
The 20-year-old Babyxsosa was born in Richmond, Virginia and has been writing music since elementary school and learned how to read music when she learned how to play the oboe in middle school. She began to DJ in high school, a role that late her to begin experimenting with beat making.
She credits 14 years as a cheerleader with teaching her about performing. In an interview with Complex she explained, “I [was a cheerleader] for about 14 years. It’s almost equivalent to this rap stuff in terms of performing, getting dressed, getting makeup on, traveling, having to be places at a certain time, moving on a schedule. Our routines used to be two minutes and 30 seconds long, so it’s like performing one song. Everything’s pretty similar besides the actual sport of what I’m doing.”
