Additional details have emerged on Fenty Skin, a new line announced by brand founder Robyn Rihanna Fenty on Wednesday (July 14, 2020). Debut offerings will include a cleanser, toner and moisturizer with sunscreen. The names for each of the products are as follows: Total Cleans’r, Fat Water toner and Day Cream with sunscreen.
The packaging is minimalist and lavender colored and has been compared to Kylie Skin and Florence by Mills.
While Fenty Skin will likely sell out on day one, there are plenty of Fenty Beauty fans stating they want to see the ingredients before they make the purchase. As of yet, Fenty Skin hasn’t provided either an ingredient list or pricing in advance of the launch.
Within the skincare community, there is some trepidation around purchasing products created by beauty brands. A the same time, Fenty Skin is housed under LVMH‘s Kendo umbrella, which has experience producing dedicated skincare line Ole Henrikson.
On popular beauty Instagram account Trendmood, one commenter, who drew a lot of likes, wrote, “I’m skeptical. I just really prefer my makeup from cosmetics companies and my skincare form skin care companies. I do believe if any one would do it right, it would be Fenty. I just can’t help but he a little leery.”
Rihanna announced news of the brand with a visual of her using all three products. Driving home the unisex positioning of the line, the brand followed up with a campaign video featuring A$AP Rocky and Lil Nas X.
The launch will take place on July 31, 2020 on fentyskin.com. If you provide your email, you can gain early access to the launch of the new product line on Sephora on July 28th at 9:00 PM PST.
