Official images have emerged of Air Jordan and Off-White Retro 5 sail sneaker (style code: CV9388-100), a shoe that’s shaping up to be one of 2020’s most coveted launches.
The shoe was first shown on Off-White’s fall 2020 women’s presentation in Paris. The first Jordan ever owned by Off-White designer Virgil Abloh, the Retro 5 in sail is a follow up to a collaborative Jordan and Off-White Retro 5 black silhouette dropped in February 2020.
The shoe is highlighted by a chic cream upper complemented by opaque fixtures on the lace eyelets, tongue/upper netting, and heel-tab. Of course, the shoe also includes Off-White signature Helvetica text in quotes, this time the word “AIR” printed above the shoe’s air unit. There are also three sets of laces detailed with the word “LACES.”
Additional Off-White touches include a raw foam finish at the sockliner, synthetic overlays and a cream zip tie reflecting the industrial aesthetic Off-White’s debut collaborative effort with Nike, called “The Ten,” was known for. The pair also includes a traditional Air Jordan hangtag.
The shoes will be packaged in a Jordan box with circle-shaped cut outs, a design theme used throughout Off-White’s fall 2020 women’s collection.
Recently, Abloh auctioned off a pair of the shoes for charity and raised $150,000, which was donated to The Black Curriculum, a U.K. based organization that uses art to teach Black history in schools.
Priced at $200 and offered in women’s sizing 3.5-16.5, Air Jordan and Off-White’s Retro 4 Sail will drop on SNKRS on July 25 at 10:00 AM EST.
