As we write this, Telfar as led by Queens native Telfar Clemens is trending on Twitter, following another restock of its popular Shopping Bags that quickly sold out upon arrival.
Fortunately for those who missed out, the bag is still available for pre-order at LN-CC. Currently it’s available in black, Forrest green, baby blue, yellow, pink and white in small, medium and large sizes depending on the color.
The vegan leather bag is easily identifiable by its simple-yet-complicated designing combining a box-silhouette prominently branded with the Telfar logo and detailed with two top handles and double shoulder straps.
While it first launched in 2014, the Telfar Shopping Bag has grown in status as symbol of cool for young creatives who love the brand’s identity as a black-owned, unisex brand, described by Clemens as ”genderless, democratic, and transformative.”
The bag’s growth in popularity was in part fueled by the label winning CFDA/Vogue’s Fashion Fund Award of $400,000 in 2017. Clemens used his winnings to revamping the bag, adding additional sizing and color options.
Ranging in price from $180-$280, the bags are now available for pre-order at lncc.com. Note: We reached out to LN-CC about timing for shipment and were told to anticipate delivery in six to eight weeks.
