English electronic pop music duo Disclosure has dropped a visual for “Birthday,” a single and video featuring multi-talented music creatives Syd and Kehlalni. The sultry, old-school sounding r&b single is included on Disclosure’s new double album titled, ENERGY, dropped in late August.
The song’s lyrics are themed on lingering feelings and dealing with thoughts of a calling a prior love interest on her birthday even though the relationship is over.
In the song, Kehlani lets it be known, “I ain’t even callin’ for no reconciliation; I just want to tap in and see how you been; I’ve waited for an adequate amount of time; To give us both some space; I think it’s been good for us to stay up out of the way.”
Providing a fun house feel, the cute and creative visual features giant versions of Syd and Kehlani dong their best to fit in a normal-sized house as they wrestle with thoughts of reaching out to each other.
The visual ends with claymation version of Syd and Kehlani, who who are shown talking to each other wistfully, and flying on the top of a single engine plane.
