Houston-born Megan thee Stallion has dropped her debut album, Good News, a 17-song effort that includes her first No. 1 single, “Savage Remix” featuring Beyoncé. In addition to Queen Bey, the album is chock full of splashy featured artists including City Girls, Lil Durk, SZA, Mustard, Popcaan, 2 Chainz and Young Thug.
Alongside the album, Megan released a steamy visual for “Body” with cameos appearances by Taraji P. Henson, Jordyn Woods, Asian Doll, Blac Chyna, Maliibu Miitch, Daren Kyle and Bernice Burgos.
Weighing in on her album process with a Spotify exclusive video, Megan (real name Megan Pete) explained, “So first of all, my studio sessions are not parties. Everybody has to get out. I’m looking in the mirror and I’m twerking ’cause I got to freestyle and twerk to myself to really hype myself up.
“Me and my engineer, Source, we literally have such a good bond and a good chemistry. He makes me feel comfortable. So I could literally get on the mic and say anything.”
On what she hopes Good News conveys, Megan added, “I hope that Good News the album creates great memories for people during this crazy time. A bad day only lasts 24 hours so if I was talking to a hottie, they may feel a little down right now I would just tell them to just keep pushing, keep going, because just because something bad is going on right now that does not mean it’s gonna keep happening. Things always get better.”
