“Among professional athletes, studies show that up to 35 percent of elite athletes suffer from some form of a mental health crisis that may result in stress, eating disorders, burnout, depression or anxiety. This collection raises mental health awareness and reminds audiences of the importance of mental health and exercise is part of healthy routine and can lead to personal positive growth.
Beecroft adds, “Sports, specifically basketball, has always been an outlet to release any heavy emotions I was feeling. It was a way for me to get it all out and leave it on the court. This collection represents the ways sport can positively impact one’s mental health, but also this collection highlights the preparation and the journey it takes to get your mind in a good place before the big game, whatever that game is for you. I wanted to give a nod to those who recognize the importance of the mental hustle and starting from within.”
Select proceeds will be donated to the Jed Foundation, which protects emotional health and prevents suicide for teens and young adults.
The collection will be available in-store and on unknwn.com at 10:00 AM EST on November 9, 2020.
