Comme des Garçons as directed by Rei Kawakubo presented its men’s collection in a darkened room located within the label’s Tokyo headquarters on Monday (January 25, 2020).
The presentation included Comme des Garçons latest effort with Nike, with the label this time putting its design imprint of the famed Foamposite One sneaker. First launched in 1997, the Foamposite One is marked by molded polyurethane overlays and lacks a Swoosh.
Shown in either black or white, Comme des Garçons’s version of the shoe makes uses of circular rather than vertical ribbed overlays and feature Homme Plus branding on the heel. As well, the shoe’s silhouette is notable slimmer than the ever-polarizing original Foamposite One.
As of now there’s no pricing or timing for Comme des Garçons and Nike’s Foamposite sneaker though it will likely launch sometime during the second-half of 2021 and will be sold at Dover Street Market.
