Alife And Champion Team Up For HBCU Capsule

February 3, 2021. Leave a Comment

New York-based Alife has teamed up with Champion to celebrate the legacy of 20 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), an effort arranged through collegiate licensing company CLC. The collection will be carried exclusively at Urban Outfitters.

Featured colleges are as follows: Albany State University, Cheyney University, Clark Atlanta University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Fisk University, Grambling State University, Howard University, Johnson C. Smith University, Lincoln University, Morehouse College, Morgan State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, Norfolk State University, Spelman College, Tennessee State University, Tuskegee University, Virginia State University and Xavier University.

Commenting on the effort Alife partner Treis Hill, a Hampton University alum, stated, “I am thrilled that this collection, which celebrates all of the culture, community and connectivity which an HBCU experience brings, is being showcased by Urban Outfitters and Champion.”

In conjunction with this capsule, Urban Outfitters is launching an initiative titled UO Summer Class ’21, a 10-week, paid summer internship for five students currently attending an HBCU. As part of the internship, students will be offered a one-on-one mentoring session with Urban Outfitter leadership.

Priced at $89, the HBCU hoodie capsule will launch on February 8, 2021 on urbanoutfitters.com and alifenewyork.com.
