Sneaker industry veteran Bimma Williams has announced season two of Claima Stories, a podcast amplifying the stories of Black people and people of color with creative roles in the sneaker and streetwear space.
Claima Stories’ lineup of women for 2021 includes designer Melody Ehsani, whose episode on March 2, 2021 will kick off the season, YOWIE creative director Shannon Maldonado (March 9), photographer Elise Swopes (March 16) and creative director and artist Laci Jordan.
Additional featured guests are photographer Anthony Sureme, designer Jeff Staple, Street Dreams publisher Steve Irby and NikeLab design director Nate Jobe.
In celebration of the launch, Claima Stories has linked with Converse on a selection pairs of a Chuck 70 sneakers inspired by the podcast’s effort to provide more openings and opportunities to people of color.
The Claima Stories Chuck 70 is offered in a pearl colorway, a tribute to the “Chucks and Pearls” style statement made by Vice President Kamala Harris while on the campaign trail, an effort that happily cumulated in her barrier-breaking role as the first U.S. woman of color vice president.
Season two of Claima Stories is now available on multiple streaming platforms including Apple and Spotify.
