Bay-area rapper Saweetie (real name Diamonté Harper) took to Twitter today (March 19, 2021) where she let it be known she’s single and no longer dating Migos rapper Quavo (real name Quavious Marshall). In her tweet she implied the relationship ended because of infidelity. “I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character,” she wrote.
Dismissing the expensive gifts from Quavo she once celebrated (including a Christmas gift of a customized Bentley), Saweetie added, “Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”
Making it clear she had given up on the relationship some time ago, she added, “I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation.”
A few hours later, the 29-year-old rapper followed with his own Tweet: “I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.”
Chatter over the status of their relationship became a topic on Tuesday March 16th) when Saweetie’s fans noticed she was no longer following Quavo on Instagram. Within the next 24 hours, Quavo returned the favor.
The cute couple first started talking back in March 2018 when Quavo reached out to Saweetie with an Instagram DM. They had something of a coming out party when they attended an Atlanta Hawks game together in the fall.
