Kid Cudi made quite the style statement on Saturday Night Live last night (April 10, 2021) where he performed two new songs: “Tequila Shots” and “Sad People” from his Man on the Moon III: The Chosen album
For his first appearance, Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) was clad in a green mohair sweater, Chris Farley t-shirt with Nike and Cactus Plant Flea Market Dunk sneakers.
For his second appearance, Cudi performed in an Off-White floral dress paired with a Ben “Baller” Yang chain inspired by the work of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. The chain was gifted to Cudi by Baller for his 36th birthday in January of last year.

In addition to a send up to former SNL cast member Farley, who died of a drug overdose at age 33, both looks worn by Cudi are thought to be a tribute to Kurt Cobain who once performed in a floral dress. As well, Cobain, who committed suicide at age 27, famously wore a mohair sweater and jeans during his MTV Unplugged performance in 1993.
Cobain’s MTV sweater was auctioned for $334,000 in 2019.
