Music creative SZA delivered for her fans with a virtual performance on June 17, 2021, sponsored by American Express as part of its ongoing “Unstaged” concert series. In an event staged on multiple sets ranging from California’s Ranchos Dos Pueblos beach to an RV driving down the highway, Solána Rowe performed 14 songs, opening with “Anything” from Ctrl and closing with “Good Days” from her upcoming album.
Performing multiple singles from her Ctrl album, the event included an appearance by Travis Scott who performed “Love Galore,” along with Isaiah Rashad for “Pretty Little Birds.”
As part of the event, SZA also conducted a meet and greet with a select group of fans. When asked about her upcoming album she also referred to the “album dump,” a collection of songs she has been discussing for quite sometime that didn’t make the cut for Ctrl and her upcoming album.
Confirming the existence of the dump album, SZA said she’s struggled to decided what songs should go where. She explained, “Basically, yes, the dump is dumping, however, I had to figure out what is going to go on my album versus what is going to go on the dump.”
She noted while at first she wasn’t as enamored with the dump singles, she changed her mind as time went on and she received feedback from fans on snippets. While there appears to be plenty of SZA music on the docket, she didn’t providing timing for the launch of either project.
