Model and influencer Brittany Byrd has filed assault charges against Lil Uzi Vert (real name Symere Woods) following an altercation which took place at Dialog Cafe in West Hollywood at 12:00 PST on Friday (July 2, 2021). According to TMZ. Byrd was conducting a meeting at the café with rapper SAINt JHN (real name Carlos St. John Phillips) and director Jeymes Samuel when Lil Uzi Vert jumped out of a Cadillac Escalade and confronted JHN of them while brandishing a gun.
According to TMZ‘s version of events, the Philly-born rapper swung at JHN, but missed and stumbled while also dropping his gun. Byrd then confronted Uzi who by then had recovered the gun. He allegedly pushed the gun into her abdomen and then struck her. Subsequently, Byrd was taken to the hospital and plans to file a police report.
While TMZ claims Uzi confronted JHN first, according to a Shaderoom interview with Byrd’s manager, Brianna (no last name provided), his first and only target throughout the confrontation was Byrd. The publicist added that Uzi confronted her, punched her in the face and then ran back to his car and drove off. Brianna confirmed Byrd was hospitalized following the assault but wouldn’t confirm she is pressing charges.
Brianna added that Uzi and Byrd haven’t had any contact for “several months.” She added, “Brittany has been trying to focus on her life and career.” As to how Uzi found the 27-year-old Brittany, Brianna explained, “Uzi has been stalking Brittany since they broke up. Uzi is toxic and mentally and physically abusive. He has been for years.”
Before his career blew up in 2017, part of Uzi’s appeal was his relationship with Byrdie, who would often make appearances during his performances and built her own fan base among women who appreciated her on point style and pink hair. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Byrd, who began dating Uzi in 2014, was the subject of his 2017 smash single “XO TOUR Llif3” and was also featured in his “Money Longer” video.
While Uzi declared himself a single man on Twitter in June 2016, the couple continued to have an on-again-off-again relationship in the years to follow.

Their frequently fraught relationship appeared to be long over when Uzi and City Girls rapper JT (real name Jatavia Johnson) went public with their rumored relationship in March 2021. Not long after, however, the authenticity of their declaration was upended by Byrd, who took to Instagram to published a recent series of unanswered texts from Uzi who appeared to be attempting to rekindle their relationship.
The feud resurfaced in May when Byrd tweeted “LMAO” under a post of an Arena HOMME+ cover featuring JT and Uzi. For good measure, she added a sock emoji, meant to imply Uzi had stuffed his underwear for the shoot. Firing back on Twitter, JT accused Brittany of being homeless and added, “B***h has nothing to show for that long pointless relationship just dripp pics & text messages! You not a baby mama wife noting move on animated grasshopper.”
Responded with an Instagram video in which she alleged she saw Uzi Vert assault JT, Byrd stated, “You can call me homeless, but I saw you get three-pieced like a person in a Mayweather fight and asking for a hotel room and a safe environment and it just didn’t make me feel good to see that, it made me feel sorry for the girls who think that abuse is okay. You can call me everything but a child of God, but I never wanna see a woman get beat, I wanna use this platform for good for real.”
While JT has been very active on Twitter since the event, she hasn’t addressed the incident directly other than to affirm she loves Uzi.
