Los Angeles-based designer Salehe Bembury took to Instagram today where he provided a full reveal of his debut Crocs collaboration. The white Classic clog is distinguished by a wavy upper extending over and around the entire shoe including the the heel. In addition to a black heel strap, the white shoe is contrasted by a brown-colored section covering half of the toe box. Meanwhile, the back of the shoe is co-branded with Crocs and the designer’s name.
Born in New York’s TriBeCa neighborhood, Bembury has an industrial design degree from Syracuse University. He began his shoe design career at Payless and moved onto Cole Haan where he created the brand’s LunarGrand silhouette.
Bembury went on to work at YEEZY after a former Cole Haan supervisor working with Kanye West encouraged him to submit his portfolio. In 2017, he made use of Linkedin DMs to land a design position at Versace where he eventually became head of men’s footwear and designed the label’s well-received Chain Reaction sneaker.
The 34-year-old designer stepped down from his role at Versace in December 2020 and since then has collaborated with New Balance and Chinese brand Anta. He also plans to launch his own label.
As of now there’s no timing or pricing for Crocs and Bembury’s shoe.
