CEO and music creative Kanye West is on his marketing mode as of late, promoting both his upcoming, tentatively titled Donda album as well as his Gap apparel collaboration. He combined both tasks in Las Vegas on Sunday evening (July 18, 2021) where he held a listening party to preview the album.
Wearing a black YEEZY and Gap puffer jacket, which was launched in Japan and Europe last week, West was also spotted in a a pair of black leather blacks, which some are speculating may be a YEEZY and Gap item. He also wore a custom headpiece customized by Greg Ross using a vintage t-shirt purchased from Unsound Rags, a vintage store located in Los Angeles.
Listening party guests were sent a invitation that included a print of a human figure painted by French artist Louise Bourgeois, leading fans to speculate the image will be used as album art. Best known for her sculptures, Bourgeois’s work is themed on childhood trauma and hidden emotion and she is sometimes referred to as a reluctant hero of feminist art. The painting is untitled and was included in a 2015 exhibit titled “Les têtes bleues et les femmes rouges.”
While guests at the Las Vegas listening party were required to turn over their cell phones upon entry, plenty of music and information leaked out. According to Reddit’s WestSubEver, approximately 13-16 songs were played at the event along with interludes featuring the voice of West’s mother, Donda West played throughout.

For those who weren’t fortunate enough to receive an invite to the exclusive Las Vegas event, a second listening party will take place in Atlanta at 8:00 PM EST on July 22 at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Tickets are available on livenation.com.
