Music creative SZA followed up on a recent virtual performance with a second one on Thursday (July 1, 2021) sponsored by French liquor Grey Goose. The event was staged at Wisdome, a dome-shaped Los Angeles art gallery and event space. During the 52-minute event, she performed 16 songs and closed the show with a first-time, partial performance of “Shirt,” a song whose snippet had a viral dance moment on TikTok in December of last year.
While fans were thrilled by the YouTube concert, they were concerned to say the least with comments Solána Rowe made about her long-awaited sophomore album. Weighing in on the upcoming project, SZA told WWD, “I’m actually probably about to scrap all of it and start from scratch.”
While WWD described the comment made as half in jest, SZA went on to note the album won’t be dropping anytime soon. “I think [fans] will be surprised to know that it’s not what they thought, and it’s not coming when they thought. I hope that they’ll be pleasantly surprised,” she said.
Slamming the door on further album talk, she added, “I’m literally not talking about my album anymore until it’s out in the world. At this point, I’m gonna start jinxing it, and I don’t want to jinx anything.”
Working her signature sensually cozy look, SZA was styled for her latest concert by Dianne Garcia and Alejandra Hernandez, She wore oversized work trousers with suspenders, a cut out Dexter top layered over a Jade Cooper bodysuit, Danbi gloves and Bottega Veneta boots.
