As if the first season wasn’t heart-wrenching enough, HBO “Euphoria” star Zendaya [Coleman] has let it be known there won’t be any safe spaces in season two either. In the midst of filming, Zendaya recently was asked what to expect in season two by Teen Vogue and explained, “I’m kind of in the middle of it. I had like a 2:30 AM wrap time last night, we’re in the thick of it.” After a delay due to the pandemic, production for the second season began in March 2021, with filming following in April 2021.
Making use of a series of heavy adjectives, the 24-year-old actress added, “And it’s definitely challenging, it’s a challenging season. It’s gonna be hard and it’s gonna be devastating sometimes, but I think Rue really deserves all of that care when it comes to her character, because I think she represents a lot for so many people. And I hope to make those people proud with our depictions of Rue [and] where all the characters go. I think this season’s not going to be easy, though. It’s not going to be a fun watch, I don’t think. Sometimes.”
HBO hasn’t yet announced when the sophomore season of the Emmy-nominated “Euphoria” will air. Those who follow the show are guessing it will air in late 2021 or early 2022. Following the debut season, the show aired two interlude episodes, one in December 2020 focused on the show’s protagonist Rue Bennet with the second centered on Hunter Schafer’s Jules Vaughn character and released in January.
