Designer and Real Housewives of New York cast member Leah McSweeney is crossing an item off her bucket list with news of a coming book launch. Titled Chaos Theory: How to Embrace the Unexpected and Find Meaning in the Madness,” the book is described in press as McSweeney sharing “her story of finding her way by pushing back against the conventions of society, against the status quo of the fashion industry, and against the limitations of her own self-worth to create a wild, unconventional, and beautiful life.”
Pushing back on an Instagram comment describing the book as capitalizing off of her fame as a Housewives cast, McSweeney responded, “It’s not a typical housewife book,” adding, “Nothing wrong with them just not what it is.”
Published by Harper Wave, an imprint known for health, wellness, lifestyle and inspirational works, the book will be released on April 5, 2022. As of yet, the cover for the project hasn’t been revealed, but it will be soon, along with behind-the-scenes footage and book tour information.
While McSweeney is best known for Married to the Mob (which recently received a Rihanna shout out) and her role on RHONY, she has plenty of experience as an author and has authored multiple stories, often on weighty topics for publications including Penthouse, Tablet and Office.
Never one to shy away from controversial topics, one of her hardest hitting stories, “Toxic Femininity,” was a take down of actress Asia Argento following the death of Anthony Bourdain by suicide. She also co-hosted a podcast “Improper Etiquette” with Laura Stylez for several years.
Priced at $27.99, the book is now available for pre-order on harperwave.com.
