Levi’s has linked with tennis champ Naomi Osaka on a four-piece capsule featuring upcycled denim pieces. Items include a kimono, a lace-up corset constructed from a trucker jacket, knee-length shorts with corset lacing plus shorts detailed with crystal fringe.
“My inspiration behind the collection with Levi’s, I just feel like it just took parts of everything that I loved. I really loved wearing kimonos when I was a kid. To do it in denim that was really amazing how they could recycle fabrics like that,” the Chūō-ku, Osaka in Japan-born Osaka stated in a press release. “For it to be repurposed and sustainable was really important. And I love that every piece in the collection has been recycled or repurposed from old stock.”
Priced from $150 for the lace-up shorts up to $380 for a kimono, the collection will launch at select Levi’s stores and on the brand’s app on August 24, 2021.
