St. Michael, Barbados-born Robyn Rihanna Fenty has been declared a billionaire by Forbes, with the publication putting her worth at an eye-popping $1.7 billion. Most of the 33-year-old’s wealth, $1.4 billion, can be attributed to Fenty Beauty, which she retains a 50 percent stake in. The breakdown of her share in Fenty Beauty is noteworthy because it’s long been debated whether she or LVMH has control of the company.
Lingerie brand Savage X Fenty, in which Rihanna holds a 30% stake, contributes an additional $270 million with the rest coming from her earnings as a chart-topping musician and actress. A joint venture with TechStyle, the brand raised $115 million in funding in February and carries a $1 billion valuation. Investor’s include Shawn “Jay-Z‘ Carter’s Marcy Venture Partners and investment firm L. Catterdon, which LVMH CEO and Bernard Arnault (the second richest man in the world) is invested in.
Her financial worth makes her the wealthiest female musician in the world and is second only to Oprah Winfrey as the world’s richest female entertainer.
