Jordan And Billie Eilish Collab On Vegan Retro 1 KO And 15 Sneakers

Air Jordan has officially announced a long-rumored collaboration with Billie Eilish working off of an Air Jordan 1 KO (style code DN2857-330) and Air Jordan 15 sneaker (DN2863-200) silhouette. Both shoes are described as vegan and make use of 20-percent recycled material. While the Air Jordan 1 KO has been offered in canvas, the Retro 15 is normal

In a June 2021 interview with British Vogue, Eilish said she has been a vegan for seven years, a decision she made when she uncovered the meat industry’s inhumane treatment of animals.

Eilish took to Instagram to announce the news where she wrote, “i am SO excited to finally share my two air jordan silhouettes with you!! i’ve always loved @jumpman23 🥰 and it was such an incredible and surreal experience getting to create these, especially in a sustainable fashion (100% vegan with over 20% recycled material).

Reflecting Eilish’s young audience, news of the release was limited to “Behind the Design,” a news platform located on Nike’s SNKRS app.

In a visual on the app, Eilish descrbed the Retro 15 as a longtime favorite Jordan silhouette: “I begged for the 15s in the black with the little red. And when I got them, I look at them as this they were a million dollars, sitting right in front of me.”

Both shoes will launch on September 27, 2021 on store.billieeilish.com and on September 30th on the SNKRS app.

The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her care The GOAT Serena Williams says farewell to her career as a professional tennis player in the September issue of American Vogue.

In the cover story, which is a must read, Williams shares some thoughts on her evolution away from tennis and says,"Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family. Maybe I’d be more of a Tom Brady if I had that opportunity. Don’t get me wrong: I love being a woman, and I loved every second of being pregnant with Olympia. I was one of those annoying women who adored being pregnant and was working until the day I had to report to the hospital—although things got super complicated on the other side. And I almost did do the impossible: A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017."

The cover editorial was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who in 2020 became the first black woman to style a U.S. Vogue cover.

This cover was also one of the last projects hairstylist #LatishaChong worked on before she sadly passed away in July this year.

Make-up by Raisa Flowers, nails by Dawn Sterling, and photography by Luis Alberto Rodriguez.
