California-based Vans has tapped music creative Tierra Whack for a color-filled apparel and footwear collection meant to channel the playfulness of childhood expression. For the project, Whack worked with longtime stylist and collaborator Shirley Kurata to express her point of view.
Commenting on the project in press, Whack stated, “It was an amazing experience to be able to take what I do with music and apply it to fashion. Making music is all about collaboration and it was great to work with Shirley and with Vans to give people a collection they can feel free in.”
Vans and Tierra Whack’s collection will launch on vans.com and at select Vans retailers on December 3, 2021. Offerings will also be sold at Foot Locker, Simons, Off the Hook, Pacsun, ASOS and Nordstrom.
