London-based Dua Lipa has revealed her first collab with Puma, a move up from her responsibilities as a brand ambassador, a role she’s held since November 2020. Titled “Flutur,” the Albanian word for butterfly, the three-piece capsule features an all black, platform sneaker called the Mayze , plus a hoodie and baby t-shirt.
Commenting on the butterfly theme, Lipa said in a statement, “For me, butterflies are more than just beautiful creatures. They represent so much, like transformation, hope and metamorphosis. Over the past year, the butterfly has become especially symbolic and meaningful to me.”
According to Maria Jose Valdes, general manager of Puma’s Sportstyle unit, there’s is more to come from Lipa next year. In a statement, Valdes explained, “She knew what she wanted and brought those ideas to the table. This capsule is just a tease to what’s to come next year, we’ve been working around the clock with Dua to bring to life all of her ideas. It has been a pleasure to work with her, she truly is a style icon.”
Priced from $30-$110, the collection will launch on Puma’s website and stores on December 18, 2021.
