Kith Women has announced an Aaliyah [Dana Haughton] capsule in partnership with the Aaliyah Estate and photographer Robert Whitman. Offerings include never-before-seen portraits of Aaliyah printed on hoodies, crewnecks and t-shirts. Making reference to a moniker frequently associated with Aaliyah, there is also a set of “Baby Girl” items.
The capsule was modeled by students and faculty of the Detroit School of Arts, where Aaliyah graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA. The school now houses a recital hall named in her honor. All of the students and staff who participated in the effort were gifted a sample from the collection.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, 100% of the proceeds from the capsule will be divided between the school and I Support The Girls, a non-profit that collects and distributes hygienic products and other essential items to females experiencing homelessness, impoverishment and distress.
While pricing isn’t yet available, Kith Women’s Aaliyah capsule releases at 11:00 AM EST on International Women’s Day, Tuesday March 8, 2022.
