Megan thee Stallion was the clear star of the lineup on Saturday at Coachella where she created a stir by debuting a new, song tentatively titled “Letter to my Ex.” Dedicating the song to “whom it may the fuck concern,” the slower tempo song tapped into old school hip hop vibes through samples pulled from Jodeci and Wu-Tang’s mid-’90s “Freak’n You Remix” single.
A segment of the performance was published on Twitter where it was retweeted over 50,000 times along with a flurry of responses praising the song and calling for it to be officially dropped asap.
Prior to her performance, Megan (real name Megan Pete) took to Twitter to let fans know she might perform a new song. “I got this song that I recorded and every time I play it for a woman they start jumping and clapping 😂,” Meg wrote. “I think I wanna perform it at Coachella for the first time before I actually drop it.”
