Almost three years in the making, the collaboration between French label Jacquemus and Nike now has an official launch date. Describes by Jacquemus as “late-’90s lace miniskirts, Lady Di’s sport looks and the DNA of tennis,” the 15-piece collection will also include a Nike ACG Humara sneaker silhouette, a personal favorite of designer Simon Porte Jacquemus.
Inspired by his affinity for the outdoors mixed with his ability to balance the sporty and sensual, the Nike and Jacquemus collaboration sees Jacquemus designer Simon Porte Jacquemus revisiting the DNA that informed the early era of his label.
Noting that his 2014 and 2015 collections were underpinned by sneakers, Jacquemus told Vogue, “Sport was always super important in the Jacquemus DNA, but as Jacquemus grew, the Jacquemus girl changed, she got heels! And yet, Jacquemus concluded, “I always said to myself, If one day I do a collaboration, it will be with Nike.”
Nike and Jacquemus’ collection launches on June 28, 2022 on jacquemus.com. Enjoy preview images below. Offerings will then be sold at Nike’s top-tier accounts in the weeks to follow.
